Beschreibung

The former railway tunnel with a length of 44 m has an unusual height of 6-10 m. That's because the cogwheel line was rebuilt in 1882 to an adhesion railway. The ascent of the railway line was reduced from 8 percent to 6 percent, and the rails lowered by 1.5 m. As a result the tunnel grew taller. The Mühlefluh tunnel was until its decommissioning the tallest railway tunnel in Europe. Switzerland, June 17, 2015.
